Riverside Ice & Leisure Centre

Riverside Ice and Leisure provides a focus for leisure in Chelmsford with a range of facilities that is both unique and extensive. The Centre's upper deck houses the area's only ice rink; whilst the lower deck offers three swimming pools with an exciting flume ride, a multipurpose sports hall catering for everything from badminton, aerobics and six-a-side football to major exhibitions. There are also two squash courts, an indoor adventure playground for children 'kool kids', a creche, a fully air-conditioned gym, adjacent to the lower restaurant & licensed bar.

Swimming

The swimming complex comprises of 3 pools: a learner pool, main pool with diving boards and a flume, and for the summer months a heated outdoor pool with sunbathing terraces. Each of the pools offer a varied range of sessions and activities to provide enjoyment for everyone.

Ice-Skating

This international sized Ice Arena has the latest in sound and lighting effects combine with a lively disco atmosphere in Riverside's ice rink, one of only two rinks in the whole of Essex. It's also home of the Chelmsford Chieftains Ice Hockey Team and the venue for their exciting home matches.

Gym

The fitness centre at Riverside, incorporates the very latest in cardiovascular and weights equipment, which is both easy and fun to use. The gym is fully air-conditioned for your comfort and is complete with satellite T.V.

Sports Hall

Riverside offers a wide range of activities in the multi-purpose hall which is designed to accommodate up to county badminton standards of play. It is capable of mixed simultaneous use and available on a casual booking basis. Conferences, exhibitions, craft fairs and dinner dances can also be accommodated.

Kids Stuff

Designed to help parents / guardians plan educational, 'fun' programmes and courses for their children throughout the year. It will highlight the fact that no matter what your child's age or ability, we have something at the Centre to suit them, including courses in the pools, ice rink, sports hall and specialist areas such as the crèche and kool kids adventure playground.

Fitness Classes

The programme of 'aerobics' classes at Riverside is designed to suit all shapes, sizes and levels of fitness. There are over 25 classes each week throughout the day and evening.
